" I am thrilled with the book and have enjoyed your honesty on yourself, your family and friends. I like the poems at the end of each unit. Very creative Barb, may the Lord use it in many households as they enjoy this book."
What Kind of Apple Are You? By Barbara Mudge (from chapter six)
“Everyone likes apples don’t they? Whatever kind of apple you are, I can promise you this, not everyone is going to like you all the time. Some people will never like you.
Personally, I don’t like some apples. Some are too sour. Some are too hard. Some are too soft. Just as each apple has its qualities, each of you is also unique and has a special purpose and special qualities within.
“In a time of financial need, I baked and sold homemade apple pies. I used only Macintosh apples for baking these pies. No other apple would do for me. The Macintosh had qualities I needed for that specific purpose. I made and sold three hundred pies in a three-month period. Not to brag, but I can peel an apple in about thirty seconds without looking. Sometimes I could peel it in one long strip.
“When I was young, I thought that I could get everyone to like me. I believed that somehow or some way it had to be possible. Unfortunately it was mission impossible. …”
I am a person who loves and seeks wisdom in all trials life might bring.
As a little girl until I was twenty-nine years old I suffered from epilepsy. I was born in the small town of Norwich, New York, grew up on a dairy farm and enjoyed nature as my best friend. Because of my epilepsy I had few others.
This book shares decisions and experiences in my life that will prove to be wisdom gained when we allow God to use these for our good.
I take you back to Green Stamp collecting, blackberry picking, and other memories that will touch the heart and speak to your spirit with the lesson learned.
I am so thrilled for you. I still have not purchased the book but plan to soon. What a blessing you are to so many people.
